I’m committed to changing the way mental health challenges are thought of and managed in our society. I want to see an end to the stigma and shame associated with experiencing mental health issues – which affect so many of us!
I’m on my own meandering journey of practicing self-compassion and kindness towards myself and my life experience, including while going through mental health challenges. My story is just like so many others who are trying to figure out how to do this thing called life.
How I got here
I’ve spent the past nine-ish years living with depression. Its been a huge part of my journey and influenced me in so many ways. You can read more about some of the great things that have come from my journey here.
Along with depression I’ve also spent years dealing with other health issues including chronic joint pain, injuries and surgeries. Throughout this time I’ve slowly but surely changed my diet, lifestyle and my thoughts and beliefs.
Although the lifestyle changes have been gradual, rather than a momentous overhaul, one big moment came when I realised how much my exercise and movement patterns affected my mental health. I’m truly passionate about sharing what I’ve learned about how moving your body affects your mood.
I’m honestly grateful for the lessons Ive learned through dealing with my depression, and I enjoy share my insights with others who may be going through similar experiences.
I’m currently not working with any new clients as I’m taking some time for reflection. I’m enjoying doing my own thing and playing with different ways to enjoy living this life. If you want to be kept in the loop about what I’m up to and get notified if I start working with people again, please pop your email in my sign up list on the side bar to the right of the page 🙂
